A LOOK AT THE WORLD'S LARGEST INSECTS

A terrifying plague of giant hornets has killed 41 and injured more than 1,600 in central China.
The massive creatures, which can grow up to five centimetres long, started appearing in massive swarms around the cities of Ankang, Hanzhong and Shangluo.
The Asian giant hornet has a six-millimetre sting that contains deadly venom which actually attracts others of its kind to the victim.

They may be frighteningly large, but they're not quite the biggest insects out there. Here are eleven that can put them to shame.
