Five Nigerian hip-hop artistes visited the
on-going MTN Project Fame’s academy in Lagos last week and encouraged the
contestants who are gradually moving into the final phases of their stay, on
the life-transforming musical reality show.
They are Wizkid, KCEE of ‘Limpopo’ exponent, Iyanya, Tiwa Savage
and Chidinma. They advised the contestants to aim for the top position as the
show gets more exciting.
The artistes listened to various songs rendered by the
contestants, Immaculate, Simon, Niniola, Olawale, Johnny, Jimoh, David,
Margaret, Nancy, Blessing, Rowland and Omolayo.
On their views about the show, the artistes were full of
admiration for the contestants. Wizkid said ‘these contestants are truly gifted
and they will go places while KCEE said, ‘it’s a good thing MTN is giving these
talented youths an opportunity to learn and get better, such that they can
fulfill their dreams for music-superstardom’.
All the 12 contestants in the academy were placed on probation.
The judges, Bibie Brew, Ade Bantu and music producer extraordinaire, TY-Mix,
noted that all the contestants performed below expectation. According to them,’
the stage is high at this level of the competition and all contestants are expected
to raise their game’.
The five contestants, Johnny, Blessing, Jimoh, Nancy and David
with the least number of votes were placed on probation. They sang the same
songs that got them into probation, the previous week.
Nancy from Ghana and Johnny were later evicted from the MTN
Project Fame West Africa season 6 music academy.
